Following feedback from customers, the next release from Sage will see the product release naming convention switching from Winter, Spring & Summer to the year and R1 or R2.

Here is what Sage is building for their next release, Sage 200 2020 R1:

Sage ID Update

Sage is undergoing a transformation to a new system which is an underpin for their future identity Strategy. Sage ID will support new standards such as JWT and Open ID and will replace the current Sage ID offering.

All products that use Sage ID will be required to deliver updates to customers to support the new authentication, preparing for a seamless migration later in 2020.

200 2020 R1 Banking Update

Changes to support new banking technology including a variety of browsers which will now include Chrome.

MTD

To prevent fraud, HMRC have updated their API to allow submission of further audit data. Updates will be made to the in product submission for VAT in line with this change and also the MTD module used for certain submission scenarios.

Office 365: Power Platform Updates

3 new features:

  • Release new connectors for Microsoft Power Apps and Power Automate (formerly Flow)
  • Support for new office editions: A1, A3, A5
  • Streamlined onboarding journey, no longer requiring Admin credentials
